A Little Info About Me

Hi everyone and welcome to my official website! Here I want to give you a little info about my life and who I am. So let’s go back to the beginning...

I was born and raised in Canberra, Australia. From a young age I was always extremely active and involved in many sports. During my school years I would participate in just about every school sport team I could, everything from soccer, to full contact rugby league (can’t believe I actually did that one ) to Badminton amongst others. I loved all games and sports, and as long as I was moving I was happy (and I quickly learned that you escaped a lot of lessons for every sport you were a part of ). However I found a real passion for field hockey and court volleyball. I participated in both of these sports for many years from a school sport, club and state representative level.

After completing high school (years 7-10) I applied for a college (year 11&12) talented sports program and was very happy to be selected based on my sporting achievements. As a part of this program we had special lessons allocated to the gym and training development. This is where my love for health, fitness and training began. Included with the program was a gym membership. It didn’t take long for me to love the idea of weight training and ‘building muscles’...I was always a bit of a tomboy.

Once finishing school and moving into the work force, I slowly began to lose the drive to participate in sports and replaced this with daily gym sessions. At first, looking back, I can see my training techniques were not the best, but hey I got to the gym every day and watched and learned. Not too long after I decided to make the big move to sunny Queensland. Now the first thing I did was to find a gym! I knew as long as I had somewhere to train I could survive anywhere.

Naturally the next step for me was a career in the fitness industry. So I enrolled in a personal trainer’s course (back in 2001) and away I went. Whilst completing the certificate I was offered a traineeship by a nice little family owned gym. Here I continued to improve my training and nutrition knowledge, but it was a certain fitness magazine that really got me going!

On a lunch break I wandered through the newsagent looking for some magazines to pass the time when I stumbled across my first “OXYGEN” magazine. (I still have this issue, and every one since) WOW!!! When I opened that magazine I was blown away by the bodies on these girls. Amazing! I read it over and over again, and then would almost lose my mind waiting for the next month’s issue to hit the stands. I studied these awesome women’s training and eating plans thoroughly. This is what I wanted to look like...I had found my role models! (I was never into the skinny look).

I went on to compIete both certifications and then headed to university to really cement my knowledge in this area by studying Exercise Science. I have since then spent many years trying many different training and nutrition styles. I believe once you get the correct knowledge and information, you just find what works for you. No type is bad, it is just different. So from here I began training (completely by accident) for my first figure competition. Well what an experience! I got in great shape and made it, but definitely made a lot of mistakes along the way. I placed well but note, I did NOT win.

During this time, I became aware of an opportunity to compete in an Oxygen Magazine Sports Model Competition. “Fabulous”, I thought. This was my shot. I dreamed of one day being on the cover of that magazine, and knew this was my chance to get out there, meet the editor and show her I was the complete package. I had built a healthy, athletic physique, had an education to back me up, competed in some figure shows, and most importantly wanted to help other women by sharing my knowledge and experience. So I got to work spending hours on making my application stand out from all the others. I was selected to go to Perth, so off I went and did the show, and again note I did NOT win. However, I met the editor and she was so impressed with my application and my enthusiasm for the industry, she offered me a cover. Well I could not believe it. I wanted it, but like most girls will tell you, you can’t believe it when it actually happens.

I want all of you to see that with dedication, commitment, determination, hard work and most importantly helping others along the way, you can achieve anything. I wanted you to see that I have never won any shows or competitions, however I have won in many other ways. Basically what I want you take away from that, is to always do the best you can and be the best person you can be and you will find success.

For the most part this really cemented my love of helping other women with all aspects of training, nutrition and supplements. I received so many emails and messages from girls all over Australia with questions and the loveliest compliments. I promised myself that I would reply to EVERY message, as I knew how exciting it was to hear back from the ‘girl’ in the magazine. I am still amazed at some of the beautiful messages these girls send me, and to help, encourage and inspire them makes me so unbelievably happy. I really try to show these women I am just a ‘regular’ girl, and feel privileged they feel so comfortable with me that they often share their deepest thoughts and feelings. I know I can’t help everyone but I do try to give the best advice and support I can.

This is where my website comes about! I wanted to provide a place for everyone to come and support, educate and inspire one another  through the forums, allow ladies to follow my day to day successes and struggles, and be able to provide a service worldwide. It has taken along time to get this website up and running but I am so proud of it and want you all to find something of use from it. So please take your time to cruise around and enjoy.

So where to now....
The direction is still the same, however I now have a SUPER partner in crime, Marcus Davidsson! Here is a little exert from a Magazine we were featured in:

"Late 2007 it all started with a chance meeting of a guy and a girl, one originally from another part of Australia and the other from another part of the WORLD! (Marcus is from Sweden) After getting to know each other through working together at a local supplement store, they found that they shared a love of the health and fitness lifestyle, and a passion to help others live a better life. Both being personal trainers, they decided to become training partners and after a short time they a developed a deep respect for each other and great friendship.  Gradually with time they realised their life paths were the same and their relationship developed."

Firstly we are partners for life, however, it has always been important to us to be the absolute best of friends! We are both the motivating drive behind each other and constantly push each other to be the best we can be in everything we do. We totally support each other in living a healthy, fit life and use this goal and to spend time together and help others. We both completely live and breathe this industry! We spend much of our time talking to the people wanting to improve their life, trying to guide them with attainable nutrition and exercise goals, and correct supplement advice, whilst still maintaining balance in all aspects of our lives.

Currently our focus is to continue to work with the everyday person to teach and help them learn how to reach their health and fitness goals.  It is our belief that with the right information it is very simple to implement small changes to a person’s daily routine, to improve their overall quality of life. Remember every minute of every day YOU have a choice, always stop and think... ‘What do I really want, and does want I am about to do help me get to where I want to be?'

So I hope this section gives you a little better understanding of who I am! In closing, I want to thank you all for your support and friendship. Please don’t hesitate to contact me if want to find out anymore. I am always listening, and promise to reply to all your messages as soon as I can.

All the best in health and fitness,

Live a healthy lifestyle, Love your life, and don’t forget to help others along the way!
